The Effectiveness Of Single Drivers In The Distribution Of Goods Using Tronton Truck Transportation Modes In Central Java And DIY Regions

Abstract

The transportation sector plays a strategic role in supporting economic, social, and cultural development, as well as influencing the mobility and distribution of goods. In the freight transportation sector, the trucking industry in Indonesia faces challenges in the form of tight competition, low barriers to entry, and rampant illegal levies. These conditions affect the operational efficiency of transportation companies trying to survive amidst these challenges. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using a single driver in the distribution of goods using tronton trucks in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta to improve logistics efficiency. This study uses a qualitative approach to collect and analyze data from various sources to evaluate the effectiveness of using a single driver in the distribution of goods using tronton trucks, as well as its impact on logistics efficiency and illegal levies. This study found that the effectiveness of the distribution of goods using a single driver with tronton trucks in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta is influenced by factors such as infrastructure, operational strategies, and the use of modern technology. Although technology such as GPS improves efficiency, challenges related to driver fatigue and geographical conditions are still significant. Working time management, driver training, and infrastructure support are key to creating an efficient and safe distribution system. The successful implementation of this strategy requires synergy between companies, technology, and other stakeholders.
