Abstract

This review serves as an introduction to the ideas of chemical topology as developed by the
 authors, drawing extensively on the pioneering work of the structural chemist-crystallographer Alexander F.
 Wells, who published the basic tenets of chemical topology during the mid-20th century. The reader is
 encouraged to further this study with a reading of the original literature on the subject, many of the topics
