To improve patient convenience and drug delivery, mouth-dissolving films (MDFs) were formulated using HPMC E5 as film-forming polymer, PEG-400 as plasticizer, and croscarmellose sodium as the super disintegrant. The Box-Behnken design was utilized to optimize the concentrations of the components and evaluate their impact on disintegration time, tensile strength, thickness, folding endurance, and drug content. Stability studies of the films were performed according to ICH guidelines to establish their shelf life. The promising film 99.18 ± 3.32% (F8) showed the greatest drug dissolution (more than 75% within 15 min), satisfactory in vitro disintegration time 27 ± 1.88 seconds.
