This study examines the relationship between environmental culture and household solid waste management through a systematic review based on the PRISMA model, covering 37 studies published between 2021 and 2025. The findings highlight the relevance of environmental education and community participation as strategic pillars to promote sustainable practices. The integration of recyclers in the National Organic Waste Strategies is evidenced, and the need to consolidate educational programs to strengthen ecological habits is highlighted. Pro-environmental behaviors are significantly associated with improved waste management. The inclusion of educational and regulatory components can be decisive to consolidate an environmental culture oriented to sustainability, being necessary to implement comprehensive public policies that articulate education, regulations and circular economy in the contexts studied.
