Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the negative effects of the Imidacloprid pesticide on some physiological parameters in ale rats, which included lipid profiles, liver and kidney functions, oxidation indicators, antioxidant enzymes, sex hormones, and physical characteristics of sperm. The animals were dosed with a concentration 25,75 mg\kg of the Imidacloprid pesticide orally for 30 days. Data revealed  there was a significant increase in both (cho, trig., LDL, VLDL, HDL, ALT, AST, ALP, blood urea. creatinine, Malone di aldehyde) in the groups treated with tow concentrations of Imidacloprid pesticide compared with control group. while the results showed a significant decrease in both(high density lipoprotein, glutathione peroxidase ,super oxide dismutase, catalase, leutilizing ,follicle stimulating ,testosterone hormones) in the groups treated with tow concentrations of Imidacloprid pesticide compared with control group. As for the sperm characteristics, the results showed a significant decrease in the total number of sperm in the groups treated with Imidacloprid pesticide concentrations 25,75 mg\kg , as well as with regard to motility, the results showed sperm motility in the groups treated with the pesticide was decreased significantly, compared to those in the control treatment. Finally, data also showed a significant increase in dead and abnormal sperm in the groups treated with the pesticide, compared to those in untreated control group. Conclusion: Data obtained showed that the Imidacloprid pesticide at the concentrations 25 and 75 mg\kg used in the research had significant negative effects on many physiological parameters, including lipid profiles, liver and kidney functions, and sex hormones, as well as on sperm
