In enabling objects for intercommunication and data exchange on their own, the Internet of Things (IoT) has changed the worldwide technological scene. Still, the rapid growth of Internet of Things devices creates serious security concerns. The resource-limited character of Internet of Things devices and the always growing complexity of cyberattacks make conventional security methods sometimes inadequate. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a feasible choice that is strengthening Internet of Things (IoT) security. This paper investigates its potential in threat detection, anomaly detection, intrusion prevention, and device authentication in order to increase IoT security using artificial intelligence. Throughout this research, the process of securing Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems makes use of machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and artificial intelligence (AI-based frameworks). Furthermore discussed are possible future directions of study as well as the challenges resulting from mixing artificial intelligence with Internet of Things security.
