The objective of this article was to carry out the installation of the erosion measurement plots, using the nail method; for which the regions were defined and in each of them the corresponding micro-basins. Likewise, it was also decided to carry out the execution of the infiltration tests, using the method of infiltrometer cylinders, for which the availability of the necessary materials and equipment was evaluated. Among the main findings is that the construction of infiltration ditches on the semi-arid slopes of the mountain range greatly helps the regeneration of the vegetation cover and the hydrological cycle, as well as the recharge of the aquifer through the infiltration of captured rainwater. It is recommended for future research, to carry out at the level of the high Andean highlands the massive construction of infiltration ditches as a practice of water retention on the slopes of the upper and middle parts of the basins.
