Land Cover Mapping Of Mandailing Natal

Abstract

This article explores land cover mapping conducted in the Mandailing Natal District, North Sumatra. Using PlanetScope 2022 data and Object-based Image Analysis (OBIA) methodology, it mapped land cover with a map scale of 1:25.000 within the district in 2022. Indonesia National Standard (SNI) 7645:2010 was used to determine the land cover class identified from OBIA. The land cover identified the distribution of forest cover, key commodities, plantations, and other land cover, which can be used for further study, such as HCV-HCS assessment and Targeted Scenario Analysis (TSA) of sustainable commodities.
