This study aims to identify aspects of parental encouragement towards youth involvement in social activities. This study was conducted as a survey using a questionnaire instrument involving 847 youth of various ethnicities, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians, in Peninsular Malaysia. The sample was selected according to geographical zones (north, south, central and east) using stratified and simple random sampling. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 software to produce descriptive statistical analysis. The findings of the study showed that overall, the level of parental encouragement was at a high level, while the level of youth involvement in social activities was at a moderately high level. The implications of this study show that the role of parents has a significant influence on youth involvement in social activities. Therefore, various programs and physical facilities that are inclusive need to be planned and expanded strategically in order to support youth development as a whole and contribute towards achieving the goal of a Prosperous Malaysia.
