This article explores the syntactic valence possibilities of phraseological units in the Uzbek language, focusing primarily on verb phrases and their potential for semantic and syntactic connectivity. Drawing on classical and contemporary linguistic theories, particularly those of L. Tesnière and G. Helbig, the study examines how verb-centered expressions function within sentence structures through lexical-semantic, grammatical, and instrumental-semantic connections. Furthermore, it addresses the internal and external valence of non-verbal phraseological units—those involving nouns, adjectives, and adverbs—and demonstrates their functional deployment in various syntactic roles. Through analysis of examples sourced from Uzbek literary and journalistic texts, the study reveals how phraseological expressions exhibit diverse valency behaviors depending on their morphosyntactic composition. The paper highlights the theoretical and practical implications of valence-based analysis in enhancing understanding of syntactic structure and contributes to the development of national linguistic research by systematizing phraseological combinations in terms of their connective properties.
