Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the primary active ingredient in green tea, possesses multiple biological activities including antioxidant, anti - inflammatory, and anti - tumor properties. This study investigated the inhibitory effect of EGCG on colon cancer and its potential mechanism via cell experiments. The results indicated that EGCG markedly inhibited the proliferation, invasion, and migration of colon cancer cells and induced cell apoptosis. This study offers a theoretical foundation for the application of EGCG as a preventive and therapeutic agent for colon cancer.
